IPI Stands for Zero Tolerance of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse

SEAsafeguardingJuba

On 28 and 29 September 2026, Inclusive Path Initiative (IPI) took part in a two-day workshop on Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA) at Landmark Hotel in Juba, alongside humanitarian and community partners working across South Sudan.

The workshop came back to one message: sexual exploitation and abuse are never acceptable, and everyone who works with communities has a duty to prevent it, report it and support the people affected.

Zero tolerance, in practice

Participants worked through what zero tolerance means day to day:

  • No sexual activity with children under 18.
  • No exchanging money, jobs, goods, services or assistance for sex.
  • No abusive or exploitative relationships with the people we serve.
  • Always report concerns, and discourage SEA wherever you see it.

Stronger reporting and response

Sessions focused on making it easier to report and on responding well when someone does, including:

  • sharing referral pathways so survivors reach the right services quickly;
  • building functional reporting systems across networks;
  • training network members on SEA reporting mechanisms;
  • strengthening a pool of trained SEA focal points and investigators;
  • refresher training for police, legal aid providers and the Ministry of Gender.

IPI's commitment

IPI has zero tolerance for sexual exploitation and abuse by anyone connected to its work: staff, volunteers, partners and contractors. Every report is handled confidentially, and the survivor's safety and wishes come first.

How to report

If you see, hear about or suspect sexual exploitation or abuse involving IPI, call one of our SEA investigators:

You will not get in trouble for raising a concern.
