Mothers Learn the Value of Exclusive Breastfeeding in IPI Awareness Drive

As part of its campaign at Al Sabah Children's Hospital, IPI dedicated much of its engagement to breastfeeding education for lactating mothers and caregivers. Facilitators explained the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding during a child's first six months and the importance of continued breastfeeding alongside appropriate complementary foods afterwards.

The interactive sessions used simple, practical language so that mothers could easily follow and remember the key messages. Facilitators also addressed common misconceptions, giving mothers accurate information to guide their feeding choices at home.

Mothers were further encouraged to maintain balanced, nutritious diets themselves during the breastfeeding period. By the close of the campaign, participants had gained a clearer understanding of how good feeding practices in these early stages protect a child's growth, immunity and development.
