Campaign Equips Caregivers to Spot and Prevent Malnutrition Early
Malnutrition prevention was a central theme of IPI's activity at Al Sabah Children's Hospital. Facilitators shared information on the causes and warning signs of malnutrition, appropriate feeding practices and the importance of growth monitoring for infants and young children.
Caregivers were guided on how to identify early signs of poor growth or malnutrition and were encouraged to seek professional help promptly rather than waiting until a child's condition worsens. The team stressed that early recognition and timely referral can make a decisive difference for a young child's health.
The sessions also promoted diverse, locally available and nutritious foods for both mothers and children, reinforcing the message that preventing malnutrition begins with informed, everyday choices in the home.
